Heidelberg Joint Astronomical Colloquium (HJAC)
The Heidelberg Joint Astronomical Colloquium (HJAC) brings together astronomers from across many different fields and institutes in Heidelberg. It is organized jointly by the Center for Astronomy of Heidelberg University (ZAH), the Max-Planck Institute für Astronomie (MPIA), the Max-Planck Institut für Kernphysik (MPIK), and the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS). For further information please contact Kathryn Kreckel or Richard Tuffs.
The HJAC is held on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. in the large lecture hall (gHS) at Philosophenweg 12. Anybody unable to attend the colloquium in person is invited to participate remotely via Zoom (Meeting ID: 942 0262 2849 Passcode: 792771)

HJAC Meet & Mingle
As the Heidelberg astronomy community is divided across many institutes, we find relatively few chances to have casual science discussions with colleagues across town.
However, the well established Heidelberg Joint Astronomical Colloquium (HJAC) provides one potential opportunity to come together socially, as well as scientifically. Therefore, and by popular demand, starting winter term 2024 an opportunity for all to meet & mingle in advance of the HJAC was established. This is hosted starting at 16:00 in Philosophenweg 12 room 106A (right next to the lecture hall), with light refreshments (cookies & drinks). Everybody who wants to socialize with Heidelbergs Astro Community (students, postdocs, staff, faculty, and anything in between) is warmly invited to attend.
The HJAC meet & mingle is jointly organized by Richard Tuffs (MPIK), Kathryn Kreckel (ZAH/ARI), Ralf Klessen (ZAH/ITA), Eduardo Banados (MPIA), Hans-Günter Ludwig (ZAH/LSW), Friedrich Röpke (HITS), and Cormac Larkin (student representative).
