Three thousand researchers earned the distinction officially designated by Thompson Reuters' Essential Science Indicators as Highly Cited Scientists - ranking among the top 1% most cited in their subject field for the epoch 2002-2013, earning them the mark of exceptional impact.
In the category "Space Science", Prof. Dr. Volker Springel from the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) and also at ZAH/ARI is on this list of highly cited researchers, the second time after 2014.
